Tanzania is a country of natural splendour, astounding wildlife, seductive beaches, charming ancient towns, archaeological sites and geological wonders. We end the trip on the gorgeous island of Zanzibar.

Day 1 :

ARRIVAL AT THE KILIMANJARO AIRPORT.

Our Representative will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and escort you to your accommodations in Moshi. As local Tanzania’s our guides know the country with unrivaled familiarity, so you’ll be in good hands from the moment you land to the moment you leave.

Day 2 :

SIMBA’S TOWN TOUR

After breakfast at the hotel we’ll pick you up and drive to Simba’s community and spend the day there.

Day 3 :

MATERUNI WATERFALLS AND COFFEE TOUR.

You will be picked up at the hotel around 8:30am and drive to the slopes of Kilimanjaro, up to Materuni village. From there you will hike for about 40 minutes and pass by the local coffee farmers where you will get a chance to hear how local farmers grow coffee and process it till it’s sold. Also you will get time to prepare your own coffee and drink and take some home with you. This will take about an hour. After this you will walk for 45 minutes to the waterfall, passing villages of the Chagga, which is a native tribe that lives on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Near the waterfall you will have lunch and a possibility to rest and enjoy the nature around. You will see a variety of exotic plants and trees, coffee and banana trees, different fruits and animals, especially many different birds. After lunch we shall drive back to your hotel.

Day 4 :

MAASAI EXPERIENCE

After breakfast we’ll drive to west Kilimanjaro to Serval Wildlife for this majestic experience, you will have one hour to spend with wildlife, feed, and petty them. Then after we’ll drive to Maasai lodge, upon your arrival you will do nature walk with a Maasai guide in the surroundings area of the lodge. Your guide will share all insights of how the Maasai people live, what they eat, how they survive in nature and make use of natural herbs for both food and medicine. You will see the famous rock-climbing trees, and pass a Maasai cave that has its own tradition and history. There is a small lake close to the lodge where the wild animals often will come to drink water in the early morning. After nature walk we will visit one of the local Boma’s (Maasai homes)! You will get to see how the Maasai families are organized and truly experience their daily activities.

Day 5 :

TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After your breakfast at the Maasai lodge you will be picked by your tour guide and transferred to Tarangire National Park. You will be welcomed by the ancient and gigantic Baobab trees, which make even animals like the giraffe look tiny. The game drive goes on till about late afternoon and includes a small stop for a picnic lunch. The 3,000 Sq Kms Park gets its name from the Tarangire River that flows through it. The river attracts a lot of diverse animals and you should be able to spot a lot of elephants, giraffe, lions, antelopes and zebra. The Tarangire National Park has the highest concentration of elephants, which offers a unique chance for you to observe interactions between elephant families. After your tour around the park, you will be transferred to the Lodge for your overnight stay.

Day 6 :

DRIVE TO SERENGETI

You will be picked up at the Maasai Lodge at 07:00am after sunrise and transferred to Serengeti National Park, home to elusive lions, leopards, elephants, cheetah, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, eland, wild dog, gazelles, and crocodiles among others.

Day 7 :

FULL DAY AT SERENGETI PLAINS

After the breakfast, you will do a full game viewing drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, and which is good for possible lion, Thomson gazelle, topi, ostrich and cheetah sightings. The visitor’s center not far from the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites is well worth a visit after the morning’s game drive. The center also has a shop where cold drinks and snacks can be purchased, as well as a picnic area and information trail up and around a nearby kopje. You will enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch at the center in the shade of the giant acacia trees.

Day 8 :

NGORONGORO CRATER

After early breakfast we will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife for a half day’s safari tour. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here.

Day 9 :

FLYING TO ZANZIBAR

After early morning breakfast we will drive to Arusha Airport to connect flight to Zanzibar. On arrival at Zanzibar Airport, you will meet our representative who will drive you at Stone town at Tembo Hotel after lunch we’ll do stone town tour and in the evening we’ll have dinner at roof top at Emerson Spice Hotel.

Day 10 :

SPICE FARM TOUR

Morning time at 8am pick up from hotel to Spice Tour on this tour you will see and taste the tropical fruits, spices plantation or plots in the island. A variety of spices plants used as ornament, medicines, flowers.

Day 11 :

Caves & Village Visit

After breakfast we’ll visit the caves and do a walking tour around Jambiani/Paje village.

Day 12 & 13:

LEISURE DAYS

On this day you shall spend the full day at the beach. You may opt to do any beach sport or sun soaking at your extra cost.

DEPARTURE

Terms and Conditions

Group Trip Cancellations.

If YCSMH has to cancel a group trip because a country has closed its borders, everyone will have a choice of receiving a refund or being rolled over to another group trip. The decision to cancel a group trip will be determined by myself and our local guides.

DEPOSITS PAID- CANCEL WITH NO REPLACEMENT

If you cancel a booking and cannot find a replacement the FULL deposit amount will be lost from the original person making the reservation.

DEPOSITS PAID- CANCEL WITH A REPLACEMENT – $100 Penalty

If YOU cancel and find your own replacement that “helps” but it doesn’t alleviate the time and effort I must spend to get your replacement up to speed (answer questions and send previous emails). A $100 fee will be charged if you cancel and find your own replacement.

FULL PAYMENTS PAID- CANCEL WITH NO REPLACEMENT- 90 DAYS BEFORE TRIP DEPARTURE

Full payments for all Happy trips are due 90 days before departure. If you cancel the trip you will not be eligible to receive a refund. You will need to file a claim with your insurance provider. As a rule most tour vendors, charter companies and hotels require full payment 90 days before arrival. Once we have made reservations MOST resorts, Charter companies, rental shops, etc hold YCSMH financially responsible (i.e. we have to pay them, hence we expect YOU to pay us).

FULL PAYMENTS PAID- CANCEL WITH A REPLACEMENT- 90 DAYS BEFORE TRIP DEPARTURE

In the event of a cancellation, YCSMH will gladly help find a replacement but the responsibility to find the replacement is that of the person canceling. If you find a replacement to fill your spot you will be eligible for a full refund minus a $100 fee.

If YCSMH finds you a replacement you will receive a refund minus the trip deposit. As I mentioned there is a considerable amount of time and effort spent to send out emails to your replacement to get them up to speed.

I hope this helps clarify our terms as we all navigate through this post pandemic world. For those of us who are passionate travelers the small inconveniences of testing, insurance and entry requirements are well worth it.
