--description--

$950 shared room double or triple occupancy only. To confirm your spot you must secure a deposit for each guest in your party. Many of you have been asking me to organize a Utah adventure so here it is! We will be staying in glamping tents at the Ponderosa Resort. https://www.zionponderosa.com/glamping/ Combine the experience of camping with a little glamour and you've got Glamping. Our location on the upper East side of Utah's Zion National Park is the perfect place to explore Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. Enjoy stepping outside your glamping tent and gazing up at the beautiful southern Utah stars. Wake in the morning and enjoy a great country breakfast made on site. "Rough it" in style. Please note, the tents do not have toilets, so you will have to walk to a common area and do your business. The toilets and hot showers are steps away. Facilities are very clean and sanitized several times a day.

All glamping sites include:
• Access to open use activities
• Coin-op laundry (washer/dryer)
• Hot showers in the shower house
• Picnic table / grill
• Pets are not allowed in glamping areas
• Wireless internet
• Equipped with heaters
• Electricity inside each glamping tent

This trip features some really cool excursions like canyoneering, paintball, outback jeep rides, hikes to nearby Observation Point, Zion National Park, and Byrce Canyon. Please note, everyone will need to purchase a park pass to both Zion and Bryce if you wish to do the group hikes. Zion park pass is $35 per car for 7 days and you purchase the pass online: https://www.nps.gov/zion/planyourvisit/fees.htm  and https://www.recreation.gov/sitepass/74334 .  Everyone hikes at their own pace which is why guests will drive to these parks in their own vehicles. We can certainly go as a group on our designated hiking days, but some guests prefer longer hikes while others prefer shorter hikes. Whenever your body has had enough simply stop and return back to the Ponderosa.

All breakfasts are included along with an entertaining Dutch oven dinner on our opening night! In addition to the included activities there is time to enjoy optional activities. Please see the itinerary section below for more details.

The nearest airport is St George (SGU) a 1 hour drive or fly into Las Vegas(LAS) and drive 2.5 to 3 hours. You will need to rent a car for your week stay. Rates are running $187-$200 for a standard size vehicle.

We will have a happy hour from 5-6pm before heading over to our authentic Dutch oven dinner.

September 9th

Enjoy complimentary breakfast

After breakfast we will embark on half day canyoneering. Canyoneering is the art or activity of exploring a canyon and generally includes hiking, scrambling and possibly rappelling. For most people, the opportunity to go canyoneering is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Once you've tried it, you'll want to do it again. The term canyoneering was virtually invented around the Zion National Park area. This region is filled with many slot canyons that have been carved by water and wind. These fluted natural masterpieces are marvelous places to explore.
During the daylight hours, the sun reflects off the canyon walls and illuminates down into the deepest recesses of these cavernous rock formations. The red hues of the sandstone in the Zion National Park area make these experiences all the more spectacular. While canyoneering you'll feel as if you are entering another world and, for a while, you will be taken away from thoughts of the everyday as you venture with your guide. Zion Ponderosa guests rave about their canyoneering experiences!

In the afternoon we will go on a 2 hour Brushy Cove Jeep Tour.

Pass an old abandoned miners cabin on your jeep tour into our secret Brushy Cove location. Scenic views of Zion National Park and surrounding canyons. Snack and water included.

Lunch and Dinner on your own. There is a local restaurant onsite that serves food, beer and wine. All of the glamping tents also have a grill so you can cookout.

Today we will drive to Bryce Canyon. We have a lot of flexibility since everyone will have there own vehicles. You can explore this park anytime you want. For those wanting to walk with the group I recommend the Queen's Garden. The Queen's Garden/Navajo Loop is the most popular hike in Bryce Canyon National Park, running through the most spectacular section of the park. This hike takes in outstanding views from the rim and then descends along ridges into the canyon and meanders among the towering hoodoos. The total length of the hike is 2.9 miles and the elevation gain is about 600 feet. It's long enough and diverse enough to give you a good feel for the park but easy enough that anyone in reasonable shape can do it. Although this a technically easy hike on a solid and obstacle-free path, the park ranks this hike as moderate, but this is likely due to the length of the trail and the elevation.

If you are looking for a longer hike, consider the Fairyland Loop. This path takes you on a wonderful route through hoodoos and along ridges that provide awesome views and close-up looks at the strange formations. In some sections, the trail feels like a canopy walk through a forest of hoodoos, putting you at eye level with balancing rocks on the tops of spires. The orange, gold, cream, and pink hues are particularly vibrant along this trail. If you want, you can add on a spur to Tower Bridge, which can also be done as its own separate hike.
Fairyland is an eight-mile hike, with an elevation gain of approximately 2,300 feet. Although it is not technically difficult, it is listed as strenuous by the park due to the distance and elevation.

Lunch and Dinner on your own. There is a local restaurant onsite that serves food, beer and wine. All of the glamping tents also have a grill so you can cookout.

September 12th

Enjoy complimentary breakfast.

Today you can head to Zion National Park. Zion hiking will give you the thrill of a lifetime with options to journey through the world famous Zion Narrows, a slot canyon that is part of the series of slot canyons that form Zion Canyon.
