Inhabited for thousands of years, it was the royal capital of the country until 1975. It’s known for its many Buddhist temples, including the gilded Wat Xieng Thong, dating to the 16th century, and Wat Mai, once the residence of the head of Laotian Buddhism. Enjoy complimentary breakfast at our hotel. Our first tour departs at 9;30 am by van for a 45 minute ride to Kuang Si Waterfalls. Enjoy a hike or take a refreshing dip in the waterfalls for a swim. There is a bear sanctuary inside the park where you will have the opportunity learn about Asian bears. We will leave the falls for a stop at the water buffalo dairy. You will have a chance to feed a buffalo and sample some of the best ice cream you've ever had.

Enjoy complimentary breakfast at our hotel. Today is your free day. Explore the many Wats around beautiful Luang Prabang. Go for a bike ride or shop at many of the charming shops in town. I will provide you with a list of options.

Enjoy complimentary breakfast at our hotel. We will depart the hotel at 9am for a kayak adventure to Pak OU Caves. The caves are noted for their miniature Buddha sculptures. Hundreds of very small and mostly damaged wooden buddhist figures are laid out over the wall shelves. On the way back we will stop at the river whiskey bar to sample local drinks.

Enjoy complimentary breakfast at our hotel. We will depart at 9am for a cultural village tour and giveback day. The drive to the Hmong mountain village will take approximately 2 hours. We will be bringing reading books and school supplies to a group of 200 school children. We are requesting a $30 donation from each of our guests to help cover the cost of the supplies. For our gifts to the community a traditional blessing ceremony (Baci Ceremony) will be performed for our groups. On the way back to the city will will make a stop at a local market.
