You may start boarding our ship at 2pm. We will have a welcome dinner onboard and introduce everyone to the Athena crew. Mykonos is the great glamour island and a whitewashed paradise in the heart of the Cyclades. According to mythology, Mykonos was formed from the petrified bodies of giants killed by Hercules. And did you know that the island took its name from the grandson of Apollo, “Mykonos”? The island is a paradise for water sport enthusiasts! It is only natural that the “Island of the Winds” should attract surfers and sailors from all over the world!
Thursday June 27th Mykonos-Delos
Mykonos is also the jumping-off point for the archaeological site of the nearby island of Delos. It is one of the most important mythological, historical and archaeological sites in Greece. The excavations in the island are among the most extensive in the Mediterranean. With UNESCO World Heritage island bears traces of the succeeding civilizations in the Aegean world, from the 3rd millennium B.C. to the palaeochristian era.
Friday June 28th Delos-Paros
The beautiful picturesque fishing village of Naoussa is located in a huge bay in the northern part of Paros. It is considered to be one of the prettiest villages in the Cyclades and, despite the tourism development, this lovely village has manage to keep its authenticity, its traditional character and its charm, with its whitewashed and flowered little houses and its tiny whitewashed churches and chapels, surrounded by labyrinth-like narrow, stone paved streets. The area is as famous for its wine and jam as it is its annual international film festival. Geologically speaking, Paros has long been a Greek star; white marble drawn from the island’s interior made the island prosperous from the Early Cycladic period onwards. Most famously, the Venus de Milo was carved from Parian marble, as was Napoleon’s tomb. When you will dock at Paros port get ready to explore the island of the Cycladic scenery
Saturday June 29th Paros- Antiparos
This island is one of the best kept secrets with lots of archaeological sites and small bars and restaurants. The most popular beaches are: Soros, Glyfa, Apantima, Monastiria.
Sunday June 30th Antiparos- Naxos
Naxos Island is the largest island in Cyclades and it is one of the most beautiful among the Greek Islands. It combines superb fine sand beaches, with fertile valleys and mountainous beauty. It is one of the best holiday destinations among the Greek Islands, and its many attractions include the unique beauty, the variety of the landscape, the numerous historical places to visit, the beautiful walking wander routes, the tradition which has been preserved in many villages. Over 40 kilometers of beaches, over 40 traditional villages, 500 churches, monuments, archaeological sites, beautiful drive on the mountains, fertile valleys make Naxos Island one of the best holiday destinations in Greece.
Monday July 1st Naxos-Koufonsia
Koufonisia are considered as a tiny paradise in the Aegean. Indeed, their Caribbean-like beaches and authentic laid-back feeling fit the above description. Located between Naxos and Amorgos, Koufonisia are part of the Little Cyclades complex. It consider Pano Koufonisi and Kato Koufonisi, and they are separated by a narrow 200 meters wide strait. They were named Koufonisia, because of the existing huge caves which gave the impression to pirates who viewed them from a distance that the islands were hollow!
Tuesday July 2nd Koufonsia- Santorini
Santorini will arise for your eyes only! After breakfast, it’s time to explore! Santorini, or Thira, is the top destination in Greece and among the most romantic destinations in the Greek islands and also in the world. Santorini may well have conquered a corner of your imagination before you’ve even set eyes on it. With multicolored cliffs soaring over 300 m from a sea-drowned caldera, it rests in the middle of the indigo Aegean, looking like a giant slab of layered cake. The island spoons the vast crater left by one of the biggest volcanic eruptions in history. Smaller islands curl around the fragmented western edge of the caldera, but it is the main island of Thira that will take your breath away with its snow-drift of white Cycladic houses lining the cliff tops and, in places, spilling like icy cornices down the terraced rock. When the sun sets, the reflection on the buildings and the glow of the orange and red in the cliffs can be truly spectacular.
