Are you planning a trip, but have a significant chance of cancelling for multiple reasons? If so, Travelex’s Cancel For Any Reason upgrade may be a wise addition to your travel insurance policy.
Why should I upgrade my plan to include Cancel For Any Reason?
Life is unpredictable. That's why the Cancel For Any Reason upgrade is a great option for those who aren’t 100% certain they will be able to leave on the trip they’ve planned.The Cancel For Any Reason upgrade is available on the Travelex Travel Select plan to give you the benefit of flexibility when it comes to your travel plans.
How does Cancel For Any Reason travel insurance work?
The Cancel For Any Reason upgrade is only available on Travelex’s Travel Select plan. It lets you cancel for any reason – whatever it may be – up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure date. This helps ensure you’re not left completely out of pocket, as Travelex can reimburse you with up to 50% of your insured trip costs.
In order to be eligible for reimbursement with this optional upgrade, you will need to insure all non-refundable trip costs within your policy at the time of purchase. Additionally, the Cancel For Any Reason upgrade must be purchased with your initial plan and within 15 days of the initial payment made for your trip.
Can I really cancel for any reason?
Yes! As long as you have the Cancel For Any Reason upgrade, you are able to cancel your trip for any reason not otherwise covered by the base cancellation reasons on the Travel Select plan.
That means, if your dog becomes ill three days before your trip and you need to stay home, you can. Or, if your in-laws decide they want to visit during your scheduled trip, you can cancel and recover up to 50% of the trip cost. Just be sure you remember to cancel your trip more than 48 hours in advance of your scheduled departure date to be eligible to receive reimbursement.
Who do I contact to cancel my trip?
If you choose to cancel your trip under the Cancel For Any Reason upgrade you will need to notify Travelex and the travel supplier/s you originally booked your travel with, no less than 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure. For example, if you cannot make your flight, you must alert the airline with which you made your reservation to officially cancel your booking.
